George Harrison My Sweet Lord Controversy
Less than two months after George Harrison's death, his signature song was re-released as a charity single. The three-track disc includes the original 1970 recording (which topped the charts that December) and two tracks previously released on the 2001 reissue of All Things Must Pass: the original guitar-and-vocal run-through of 'Let It Down' (with some 2000 overdubs) and a new 2000 recording of 'My Sweet Lord.' The original version remains the keeper, although 30 years later Harrison managed an interesting gloss on it, especially in his looser vocal approach.
